Seiko Instruments Inc. miniature ball bearings are used in
the LEV-1 for the moon miniature probe.
In the 7th of Sep, 2023 (JST), JAXA(Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) ,Smart Landing Investigating Moon “SLIM” launched from Tanegashima Space Center by H-IIA rocket.
SLIM is equipped with the miniature probe LEV-1 and the transformable Lunar robot LEV-2. SII full ball miniature ball bearings are used for LEV-1 actuator. These ball bearings have no retainer, therefore they are low friction loss and high support load.
Now, SLIM is flying to the moon and will land to the moon around Jan-Feb of 2024.
