Compliance
SII Compliance System
As our CSR committee carries the function of compliance, it has been working on raising compliance awareness and responding to each compliance problem.
At our international subsidiaries, their appointed compliance coordinators are promoting activities to enhance the compliance system.
SII Code of Conduct and Action Guidelines
In addition to the SII Charter of Corporate Behavior that applies to the entire SII Group, to ensure that compliance is observed as a prerequisite for corporate activities, we have established the SII Code of Conduct. This code outlines the fundamental principles that all directors and employees must adhere to, ensuring compliance as a cornerstone of our corporate activities. We have actively communicated these guidelines across all sites, both within Japan and internationally, and are dedicated to promoting and ensuring adherence to the Code of Conduct throughout our organization.
Furthermore, we have developed the Action Guidelines that clearly outline specific and detailed standards of behavior to ensure thorough implementation. Each of our international subsidiaries has created and disseminates its own guidelines, tailored to local conditions.
Compliance Consultation Services
To detect and correct noncompliant acts at an early stage, we have established and are operating a reporting and consultation service. This service includes the SII Helpline and internal Consultation Service, managed by an external law firm, and the CSR Committee Secretariat within the company.
Since August 2007, the reporting and consultation service has been available not only to SII Group directors and employees (including retirees) but also to SII Group business partners for addressing non-compliance activities within the SII Group. In addition, this system can be used anonymously, and internal rules clearly stipulate that users shall not face any disadvantage or retaliation for making a report.
The operation of the system is regularly reported to the CSR Committee and the Board of Directors.
In FY2023, there were no instances of reporting or consultation within the SII Group.
Compliance Education
In order to ensure compliance from senior management to each and every employee, in FY 2023 we continued to implement an online quiz requiring answers from all executives and employees of the SII Group in Japan.
We also continued to provide compliance awareness training for new employees and senior management, as well as compliance training for each division and affiliated company.
Compliance Awareness Survey
SII continually conducts compliance awareness surveys to check the degree to which SII Group employees’ compliance awareness has been raised and entrenched. The results of the FY2023 survey are as follows.
Results of the FY 2023 Compliance Awareness Survey

Export Control
To ensure international security and proper export control in compliance with laws and regulations, we have established an internal system and conduct regular audits and education. In FY 2023, education continued to combine intranet-based education with face-to-face education. The audits are supplemented by supplementary investigations by the secretariat to confirm that appropriate export controls are in place.
In addition, SII has received approval from Tokyo Customs as an “authorized exporter" under the Authorized Exporters’ Program in recognition of its excellent compliance system and security management.
